SPNC Staff

Dan Coffin, SPNC Corp.

Growing up in the cornfields of east central Indiana, I developed a deep appreciation for the crops grown in rural Indiana and the soils that support them. While working on my B.S. in Agronomy at Purdue, I worked with numerous major U.S. corporations such as DeKalb Seeds, Asgrow Seeds, Illinois FS and Monsanto. I spent 2 1/2 years as a soils graduate teaching assistant in the Department of Agronomy at Purdue University teaching basic soil science and soil fertility laboratory. Upon graduation with my M.S. in Agronomy, I spent 2 years with American Cyanamid Company as a Technical Service Representative in the Ag Chemicals division in the northeastern U.S. I also served two additional years in the ag chemical/ fertility business as a consultative salesperson in both agronomic and horticultural crops in southern New Jersey.  While there, I earned certification as a Certified Professional Agronomist with ARCPACS in 1991.  I served the next 6 years with Novartis/NK Seeds as a Regional Agronomist throughout the Midwest and eastern Corn Belt.  I made a change to working more with the general public by serving as a District Sales Manager for AG Spectrum Company Inc. until December 2003 when I went full time in my own business. Currently I own and operate SPNC Corp., a Fort Wayne, Indiana based company founded in 2001 that focuses on providing education, consulting and production inputs to growers as well as agricultural businesses across the Southeast, West, Upper Plains and Midwest.  My main emphasis is helping growers to increase efficiency through integrating biological and standard fertility programs.  This can dramatically improve profitability by letting the "Power of the Earth Work for You."
